Das Programm läuft unter Open-Source-Lizenz und kann unbeschränkt eingesetzt werden. Neben den Standardaufgaben gibt das Tool auch MPEG-4-Videos aus. Darüberhinaus verbindet das Programm auf Wunsch Bild- und Ton-Spur.  
Mit Avi2Dvd wandeln sie Videos der Formate AVI / MKV / OGM mit wenigen Mausklicks in eine fertige DVD / VCD / SVCD um. Avi2Dvd erledigt das MPEG-1 oder MPEG-2 Encoding und erzeugt dabei eine DVD-Dateistruktur und auf Wunsch auch gleich eine ISO-Datei zum Brennen auf Disk.
