sending email problem

Hi
i have managed to set the site up and get it working

but i can't for the life of me figure out what i am doing wrong with sending emails it lets you register ok but doesn't send and email with password.
i have also tried sending email by using the lost password details.

$config{'get_mail'} = 0; # Set this from 1 to 0 if you want to use your own setting
$config{'mailprog'} = '/usr/bin/sendmail'; # no additional options please

# Set this from 0 to 1 if the script is running with a real Web-Server
$config{'web_server'} = 0;
