Not a SCALAR reference at .............
07/26/05 at 22:13:25

I added a new field to the Item form.
It is named location.
I modified "sub new", "sub Procnew", "sub Dispitem" and "disp_closed_item"

I ran Dieter's test and modified the test to include this added field.
Ther test ran fine.
When I add a new Item (no image), the new field named location  (text box) appears in the form as it should and the information I put into the text field shows up in the Preview mode and also after I post the Item.

Then, if I click on the item in the "more TOP Items" it opens fine.

However, If I click on the category the item is in, I get an error message:

Not a SCALAR reference at eAuction.pl line 5190.
No such file or directory

line 5190 is $data = substr($$buf, $last_pos, $length);

Worse is that after the item closes, I cannot bring it back up/can't find it by going into 'My Auction Center". It is closed but not retieveable.
It is totally gone except that the correct  item number appears in the user's dat file.
It also seems like (not sure) that the item is closing faster than it is set for.

I believe I have not completed the modifications that are needed in the disp_closed_item sub rountine. I have tried a number of different permutations but none yield success.

Can anyone help?

Regards,

mars/mars22

That means: the image file is corrupted or empty or doesn't exist.
