Title: Buy IT Now Post by Raymond on 04/10/08 at 17:15:29 How does a user utilize the "Buy It Now" function? In testing, I could not find a way to actually follow through with it. Tried making my bid the same amount as the "Buy It Now" amount, but that didn't work either. |

Only the seller can define the 'ByItNow' value. Buyers bid must (at least) match the 'ByItNow' value. |
Title: Re: Buy IT Now Post by Raymond on 04/10/08 at 20:14:10 As a seller, I filled in the "Buy It Now" amount, but as a bidder I did not see anyway to buy the item, so I placed a bid for the amount given, but the item was still available for bidding, and there was no indication I had purchased the item. (buyer and seller are two different ids). |
Title: Re: Buy IT Now Post by Dieter Werner on 04/10/08 at 20:21:16 I never have seen this behavior before ... but I will test it and let you know the result. |
Title: Re: Buy IT Now Post by Dieter Werner on 04/11/08 at 10:25:10 I tested the function again and everything worked as expected. |
Title: Re: Buy IT Now Post by mars on 04/11/08 at 20:33:26 Perhaps it has to do with the "bid-agent"? If you are running a test auction and place a test bid (using the bid-agent) that is less than the buy-it-now price, unless you/someone else places another bid, your fist bid is stuck at the amount you bid and therefore the "bid-agent" will never get the opportunity to increase the bid to the "buy-it-now" level. ....hope I explained it OK........... I know we have run many auctions with many "buy-it-now" items and the function always worked fine. |
