i am confident in changing the script but got confused reading the forums you stated to some one that after edit config change name to eauction and upload config and e auction to sig bin, would that mean upload changed script plus origional or have i read it wrong i am happy to donate to get it going or take you up on your eight dollars is that nz currency and can it be made in instalments i think i can do it with a little mentoring if anyone interested in helping a novice along please

Didn't you read the header of the script?

You have to save each file under the same name as you opened it.

well all not good i started by making a new folder in cig-bin dir and chmod 755 it then opened eauction.pl in note pad made change to my email address and set time for close after last bid to five mins went to drag into ftp program into new folder and it just dissapeared cant be found so tried again with sucess dont know where first on went then config i opened and did not find anything need change placed that in folder on ftp program and they both went to site tried test and nothing page not found on net after looking for sulution i tried editing and saving them in the downloaded file  as when i unziped file came with hammer and camera etc and maybe they are needed tried putting all into ftp program and all files went except eauction.pl came up with this error my pages for site are stored in htdocs file. I notice from error below it wants to be called /htdocs i am thinking i might have to change in script (cig-bin/) to (/htdocs/cig-bin) would that be the issue if so were would i look or am i on the wrong track can i have your views please
STOR eAuction.pl
550 eAuction.pl: No such file or directory
CWD /htdocs/cgi-bin/eauction161
       250 CWD command successful
TYPE A
I am thinking i should change path here to htdocs

The name of your servers cgi-bin directory
   $config{'cgi_dir'}            = 'cgi-bin'; # Default for most servers

# The cgi-bin subdirectory where your eAuction.pl will be stored
   $config{'auction_dir'}      = 'eAuction161';

(sorry about the life story have been told to give as mutch info as possible to make a quarry easy to sort out if to long let me know and will keep them shorter)

I beg your pardon ...
but I cannot help you to handle your FTP program.

On the other hand ...
your description is very confused, so I'm not able to find out what the real problem is.

i was able to upload config file to my site but when uploading eauction error comes up i think it is because eauction is using path cig-bin/eauction and i need it to be htdocs/cig-bin/eauction i note at the start of the config file it says

The name of your servers cgi-bin directory
   $config{'cgi_dir'}            = 'cgi-bin'; # Default for most servers

# The cgi-bin subdirectory where your eAuction.pl will be stored
   $config{'auction_dir'}      = 'eAuction161';
should i change this to htdocs/cig-bin should i change these lines and would it make a difference can you tell me how please ???
do you want access to my site to see how it is set up maybe to help answer this

If you cannot upload the file, then this hasn't to do anything with the content of the file.

http://www.website/cig.bin/eauction161/eauction.pl
is wrong.

cgi.bin must be: cgi-bin
eauction161 must be: eAuction161
eauction.pl must be: eAuction.pl

Please follow the written Instruction.

The download URL is still:
http://www.everyscript.de/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=download  :)

and ...
the script doesn't contain an accounting and/or billing system.

ok i downloaded and tried to chang config and uploaded when i ran script said i forgot to chmod 755 script so chmod script and got error as below

CGIWrap encountered an error while attempting to execute this script:

Error Message: No such file or directory
Error Number: 2

looked for help in forum and found that you said to some one the script doesn't need change it should pick up paths by its self so unziped and uploaded everything to a cgi-bin/eAuctuion file and still get the same error this happens with every script i try to ru on searching the web for answers found coud be not pad putting control m's at the end of every line and place -- at the start of the script have you herd of this

There are no control m's with the script.
