Ok, I am totally blonde when it comes to the idea of this stuff. Once I have the thing up and running I am fine, but getting there is where I have the problems.

Could some one tell me, step by step, how to set this up? Most of what I have read here and in the downloaded stuff, well it is confusing as all get out since I have no php or html or what not experiance. So if some one could please help me out I would really appreciate it.

Sorry, but the instructions (see the header of the script) are very detailed.
You don't need more.
Follow them step-by-step and the program will work as expected.

Obviously I do need more isntruction, hence my post. To me the instructions are not clear enough.

- edit eConfig161.pl and save it

What am I editing it with? What am I putting in and/or taking out? I don't understand this at all

- save THIS file as eAuction.pl

Won't this take the place of the eAuction.pl file that is in the folder you gave? If so, then why was it in there in the first place?

Save it or don't save it ...
but you have to upload it onto your server.

Any text editing application or utility (Like Microsoft's NOTEPAD) will do.
I use the freeware program Crimson Editor (http://www.crimsoneditor.com/) when I work on a windows machine. It is a super litttle program.

Open the file eAuction.pl and find the line INSTALLATION (see below). It should be around line 425 of the file. Underneath INSTALLATION are the instructions on how to install and run this auction software.

You wiil need to make some confiuration options in the other file (eConfig161.pl) and I have explained that a little further below. After you have made your changes, simply save the file (do not change any file names, it is not necessary).

They are under the following headings:

That helped, now I am trying to figure out the proper scripts to put in. I got spoiled, since I am not one that understands programing at all, to where you just push a button and it does it for you! I am trying to teach myself, but it is not working out that well for me. :'(
