Was there a site or forum page anywhere to subscribe to new releases (and patches, etc.)?

Just thought of something. :o

It isn't possible to subscribe to entire forums like 'new', but if announcements, or summaries of them were all posted to one (pinned) thread, anyone who wanted to be told about updates and the like could just subscribe to this thread. (I actually think I saw this on some other s/w forums).
