Title: What is the difference?
Post by jackhis on 02/21/05 at 01:13:52

I have everyuaction script installed in the cgi-bin folder, and it has been working fine in the first time.

In the same cgi-bin folder, I installed eauction, and I get permission error as many folks are getting right now.

I have run the dump.pl and there is nothing new(different) that I can use to refine the set up.

My question is what is the difference between everyauction  and eauction?  Any idea, suggestion?
Thanks MUCH in advanced.
Jack

Compare the code - and you will see the difference.
eAuction is trying to create a secure directory for saving the auction data.
'Permission denied' is just the returned message of your server - that means: you are not allowed to create a directory in the 'not web accessable area' of your server.

Sorry, but I'm not ready to change my code just for those people who are using a bad configured server.
