Title: usereg sub-directory not created
Post by eatthemushrooms on 01/03/05 at 14:03:09

greetings and happy new year

I'm installing eAuction161 to set up a charity auction to raise some money for victims of the Tsunami disaster.  Our hosting service, however, has the cgi-bin within the web-area of the server; but I still created a directory for 'sensitive data' in the non-web-area.  Thus the FS looks like:

/public
 |
 |--/eAuction (folder in non-web-area)
 |
 |--/www (web-area)
          |
          |--/cgi-bin
                    |
                    |--eAuction161 (eAuction161 sub-directory)

I've got the basic auction page displaying OK, but get the following error message at the bottom of the page:

/data/web/_a/_l/_l/allyoucanbear.com/public/eAuction/eAuction161/userreg/prereg
No such file or directory

A number of subdirectories have been creaed within the directory in the non-web-area (audvid, computer, elec, etc) but /userreg has not been created.  Where am I going wrong?

many thanks!

Everything is okey.
In order to get rid of this message, do the following steps:
1. Run the test
2. Register yourself

Many thanks, Dieter.  A couple of new queries:

[1] I simply delete sub proc_test from eAuction.pl to delete all test items? (I don't want to screw up on this)

[2] I get the following error displayed at the bottom of the page:

    closed
    No such file or directory

Am I still doing something wrong?

Many thanks again for your help

To use the 'test-function' as the first step after installing the script is really recommended.

In your case ...
post an item and let the dead_line be as short as possible - this will create the directory 'closed'

Hi
I am posting this, as eatthemushrooms is kindly installing the
auction script on my site. I have loads of people waiting to auction their items for the Tsunami appeal.
It does not appear that the solutions you offered have solved the problems, and I wondered if you could make further suggestions? Also are their any help files or other instructions available?
Many thanks

It was a hard pice of work ...
but this Charity Auction is worth any hour which I invested into her.
Please, support the Tsunami Victims by visiting this auction site and become active there as seller or bidder or advertiser.

The Auction will become 'real' at 02/01/2005
