Title: Can anybody help me out? Almost there Post by Lakwaun on 12/01/04 at 17:21:11 How do I get the eAuction up and running in real time mode instead of on a local server. I thought I had it all right but when I went to try to register it said you are on a local server or something like that. Do I just have to publish the site to start it in real time? Or remove parts of the script? I also thought I needed help with the index.html file as far as getting my site to point right to the eAuction script. What I did though is pulled up the site out of the cgi-bin and then clicked view-----> source then copy and edited that source to my index.html and now my main site pops up right on the script but I am not sure I have the right directories or what. I added all the dir that I saw in the eAuction.pl script. Will this script self produce the directories and sub dir? Any help or a nice price would be alot of help. Thanks in advance. |
Title: Re: Can anybody help me out? Almost there Post by Dieter Werner on 12/01/04 at 17:51:30 Open eConfig161.pl (use an editor prog). Search the script for this line: # Set this from 0 to 1 if the script is running with a real Web-Server $config{'web_server'} = 0; Change the value of $config{'web_server'} from 0 to 1. Save the file and upload it to the cgi-bin of your server. The script don't need an index.html file. The script produces all needed directories (and the sub directories too). |
Title: Re: Can anybody help me out? Almost there Post by Lakwaun on 12/02/04 at 04:45:44 The Path to a 'NON-WEBACCESSABLE' directory of your system $config{'get_path'} = 1; # Set this from 1 to 0 if you want to use your own setting $config{'basepath'} = '/Your/Basepath'; should I creat a new folder and put it in the cgi-bin or is this just for like my local server or local network? As far as changing the look of the site I can edit that in the header part of the script right? |
Title: Re: Can anybody help me out? Almost there Post by Lakwaun on 12/02/04 at 04:48:44 Also is there any add on script that will allow the owner of the site to change diffrent things and look of the site? Like a owner Control Pannel? I would like to change the layout of the main site page but it be user friendly. |

Title: Re: Can anybody help me out? Almost there Post by Lakwaun on 12/02/04 at 18:44:45 hey I want to say thanks for the help. I do have another question though do you know why in the middle of my page it says error? and it did say a real long directory with about 4 sub directories included in it? or it says Error closed No such file or directory right under the copyright part of the page. Another thing is I posted a item just to test basiclly but I dont see the item I posted in my auction listinging. how do I remove the: Version: 1.6.1.59 under the top website address header? Everything looks good to me I just want to make sure everything is for security purposes. |

Title: Re: Can anybody help me out? Almost there Post by Dieter Werner on 12/02/04 at 21:12:03 You know nothing about Perl, CGI or how to install a script. But you were very able to delete my copyright notice. Sir - you are violating the license! |
