I'm not sure why i get this message when trying to change Registration password. The file "prereg" and "usereg" are both 777 file permission. Any ideas? ???

the user .dat file is only being created in the "prereg" folder. if i move the users .dat file up one level above the prereg folder, then the user can post their items. why would this be happening?

You have to confirm the pregreg-email.
That will change the user-status from pre-registered to registered.
After that you are able to edit the user-data.
